November 26th, the Buy Nothing Day

Value Everything, Buy Nothing!

While shoppers will invade the stores for the month-end sales this Friday, there is an alternative activity that may in fact be a whole lot more fun and build a sense of community. The day after Thanksgiving (and day after that outside N. America) is Buy Nothing Day, November 26th of 2010, an international day of awareness over hyper-consumption.

Make-up Magic (Ulzzang)

"There are no ugly women, only lazy ones"
says Helena Rubinstein.

And the featured girls in this blogpost proves her right.

The make-up trend is called "Ulzzang" (pronounced as uhl-jang), which directly translates as "Best + Face" in Korean.  It's quite unbelievable but with the right make up, proper accessories and the cute outfit, you'll actually think these gals had major surgeries. They are basically people with above average looks, sometimes with the use of Photoshop (Photo Manipulation Software) and haduri (.gif creator) who post their pics online, some becoming internet celebrities.

Here are some of the most famous Ulzzang girls in the web:
Disclaimer: I don't own the images, just googled them.

Seeing these Ulzzang ladies never fails to amuse me....the make-over is so drastic.

Hello Lazy Lazy World

Dear lazy reader,

This is my first entry.
I used to love writing and reading...even blogging, but my innate bum took over me and eventually forgot about the entire thing.
My previous blogs are called Sushimonster, gogoyubari, roxytheproxy, Assasin's Journal? etc, etc.
I decided to start all over as the previous roxy is way too different from the new one. Less angst, but more boredom.
Gawd, is this called aging? *stunned*

I've been realizing that fewer things brings me excitement, and I was hoping, keeping things in order (and err...documented?) could reverse the boredom disease I've acquired.

Yours truly,
The laziest person on earth
